Have you recently visited us at City Hall?  Please fill out our Customer Service Survey.  We appreciate your feedback.

This is a new website for our City.  We are excited about using this site to communicate online with our citizens, businesses, and visitors. We strive to provide you with updated information including:

2006 Sherburne County reports the City of Big Lake's population to be 9,174.  Big Lake is located on the shores of both Big Lake and Mitchell Lake, and is at the southern entry point for the Sherburne County National Wildlife Refuge and the Sand Dunes State Forest. The City is located midway between Minneapolis and St. Cloud, at the intersection of US highway 10 and MN 25.  New to Big Lake?  Check out our section.

We are excited for the arrival of the long awaited Northstar Commuter Rail.  Because commuter rail increases land values near stations, and Big Lake is the intermediate terminus, the City is committed to capturing the development potential this major transportation investment will generate.    Recently, a Transit Oriented Development committee was created to serve as an advisory committee to the Planning Commission and City Council as well as to involve the public in planning for this "once in a century opportunity".

If you find there is information missing from our site or if certain information is difficult to find, please contact City Clerk Gina Wolbeck.  Your comments are important to the continued development of our site.
