Big Lake Economic Development Authority is charged with promoting commercial and industrial / business growth and development and “fair-housing” residential development by marketing the community and its assistance programs by direct and indirect methods.
The Parks Advisory Committee serves as a resource for new and existing neighborhoods, groups, and civic organizations seeking information concerning the Big Lake park system, and assists city government in setting open space, land acquisition and development policies.
The Planning Commission is made up of seven members appointed by the City Council. It acts in a purely advisory manner to the City Council in all zoning issues and applications except for administrative permits.
