July 27, 2017 Update
We have reviewed the input we received from residents, and staff discussed findings with the City Council on Wednesday July 26th. The staff report from the meeting is linked below. At this time, the City Council has directed staff to review processes for Zone Day collection, limiting haulers through attrition, and reviewing our garbage hauler ordinance.
The Council has not expressed a desire to undertake any of these processes at this time, but rather wants to learn more about the pros and cons of each to determine if they are worth pursuing. Staff will be compiling information on each and bringing them to the Council in the future. At this point, Council has directed staff to not pursue organized collection further.
