Farmers Market

The 2020 Summer Market will be open every Wednesday; June 3 through August 26 from 3-7pm and every Wednesday in September from 3-6pm. Farmers markets are an essential part of food access across Minnesota. The ability to provide fresh, local, healthy food has never been more important than it is right now!

Keep in mind, the Big Lake Farmers Market is taking the following precautions to keep our customers, vendors, and staff safe and healthy:

  • No on-site consumption. Please enjoy your food and beverages outside of the market area. The only exception is when sampling prepackaged food samples at a vendor's booth.
  • All customers, staff and vendors should stay home if they feel sick or if a member of their family or production staff are not feeling well.
  • A public hand washing station will be available as well as sanitizer at the information booth. Shoppers will be encouraged to wash their hands upon entry and exit from the market.
  • Vendor booths will be spaced farther apart to avoid crowding. Vendor displays will be modified to distance vendors and their products from the shopping public.
  • In the first half-hour of the market, we invite seniors, health care providers, and folks with underlying health concerns to shop.
  • For now, the market will be a shopping destination, not a social gathering. If possible, please consider leaving children at home until restrictions ease.
  • Shoppers should shop with their eyes and allow vendors to pack their products.
  • Special programming (Power of Produce, Frequent Shopper, and free kids’ activities) will be suspended until CDC recommendations allow for them.

We will modify this list of strategies as public health concerns ease and as we learn of new best practices. Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support the market and its farmers, crafters, and musicians.

Contact Corrie Scott at cscott@biglakemn.org for more information on how to become a vendor, musician, or volunteer.

Debit/Credit & Snap/EBT Accepted

The market will accept Snap/EBT payments and will offer the Market Bucks match program all summer. Don’t carry cash? We also accept Credit/Debit Card payments. Stop by the information booth to find out how these programs work!
