2018 Street Project

Overview

The project includes Manitou Street, Phyllis Street, Rose Drive, Tarrytown Road, Van Tassel Circle, Fair Meadows Drive and Hudson Woods neighborhood streets. Work by small utilities is nearing completion (gas, electric, telecom, etc.).

The project is divided up into 3 phases:

  • Phase 1 - Overlay of streets in the Hudson Woods neighborhood. COMPLETED.
  • Phase 2 - Reconstruct Manitou Street, Rose Drive and Phyllis Street. COMPLETED. Light pole installation will begin in November.
  • Phase 3 - Reconstruct Tarrytown Road and Van Tassel Circle. Mill/overlay Fair Meadows Drive. COMPLETED. Light pole installation will begin in November.

Travel/Access Impacts

Our goal is to rebuild the roads and keep everyone patronizing the businesses. There are multiple accesses to the businesses. Don't let the City project stop your shopping.

Manitou Street is closed to through traffic until the street is completed. Residents can get into their driveways except when excavating in front of their driveway.

Rose Drive and Phyllis Street are open to traffic except where immediate work is taking place. The contractor has to excavate and rebuild the gravel section before paving. The contractor will do this in sections and be barricading off the street. However, you will have access to the businesses or be able to park very close. If accessibility is problematic, please call the City Engineer. Pipe work will be taking place during the week of June 25th and Rose Drive will be closed near the U.S. Post Office for a day or two.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact the City Engineer Layne Otteson. Contact information is found on the top right of this page.
